Celebrities and fundraising for the Equine.

Most people know that owning a horse is very expensive. Especially if you raise many like most wealthy people do. So that’s why those involved feel like they should be involved in raising money for Horse Organizations. The most famous one is Hollywood Equestrian Events that take place inBurbankCaliforniaat the Los Angeles Equestrian center. It was created by William Shatner but includes many other celebrities also.

It all started when WillRogers, Douglas Fairbanks, Spencer Tracy used to play Polo every week and when they decided to relax for drinks they came to the Beverly Hills Hotels. That’s why the legendary lounge was called the Polo lounge.

Since then the legend continues with even more Film and TV stars supporting the Equine Games. The Hollywood Charity Horse Show takes place every year around Late April to Early May at the LA Equestrian Center. Besides Shatner there have been many stars like Patrick Duffy (Dallas, Step by Step) who has been doing it every year since 1990. Usually after the show there is a dinner/dance/auction held for charity ($300 ticket). Joe Walsh performed this year. Sheryl Crow was the singer in 2011. Over the years many Trek actors came and it was called Star Trek Goes Country. This included BBQs and live dance music.Even kids came to have fun.

Just to give you an idea how important it is to support the Equine community here are a list of the rich and famous that get involved. Lyle Lovett, Brad Paisley, Jim Belushi, Terry Farrell, Clint Howard, Rita Coolidge, Joanne Worley, Stephanie Powers, Jane Seymour, Al Martino(A and M records),Eric Roberts, Juice Newton, and many many more. They have raised hundreds of thousands over the years and the way its going it looks like it won’t stop.
