Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl. Charity woman

We all know and love Katherine Heigl on her many TV shows and films. What most people don’t know is how generous Katherine is when it comes to animals and other charities.

Heigl’s main charity that she speaks about and is widely written in the press is the “Compassion Revolution” that helps companion animals. It is supported by animal-protection organizations such as Cesar Millans foundation. She also has her own animal charity called the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation.

This was founded by Katherine and her mother in memory of her late brother Jason. He was killed in a car crash in 1986 at 15 yrs old. Jason was known for his love for animals. The main point of the organization is to eliminate needless suffering inflicted on animals by human cruelty, indifference and ignorance. This is done with free spaying and neutering transport of shelter dogs and an internal rescue group. Heigl also wanted to make sure their money was spent correctly and with impact so that is another reason the Jason Debus organization was born.

Heigl is a major supporter with these charities also:

Aids Healthcare Foundation, Chrysalis, Donate LifeAmerica, First Star, Glaad. James Redford Institute for Transplant Awareness, Operation of Hope, Real Medicine Foundation.
